When you can't have daddy come home at night...you take the kids to daddy! This is the first time we've ever been to visit Brandon during a work week and the kids were so excited. Brandon is working in Granbury, a small tourist town about 30 miles south west of Fort Worth. His hotel is more of a resort that sits right on Lake Granbury. With a beach, splash park and board walk it was the perfect place to go on a hot August day. We got there late in the afternoon, but went right over to the lake to swim.

Once they tired of the lake we walked to the splash park to play in the water and rinse all the sand off the bathing suits (I loved that part...sandy bathing suits are not my favorite)

We went out and got pizza to eat by the lake and then spent a little while fishing. We didn't catch anything, but we saw lots of fish jumping.
After a late night, the kids and I hung out at the hotel in the morning while Brandon did some work. Then we headed back over to the beach to play. After lunch we drove over to Dinosaur State Park in Glen Rose.
We weren't as prepared as we should have been, we should have stayed in our swim suits! It was so hot we sort of rushed through it.

What fun...heat and all. It looks like a nice idea to visit Dad once in awhile, and get to see dinosaurs, too.
Love,
Aunt Marilyn
Your faces look like it was crazy hot!! I love little Ella's face poking out the dino's mouth. Hahaha!
