After the museum we braved the weather and walked around outside for awhile looking at the shops. We stubbled upon a hallmark store - called "The Pink Giraffe" It was great! They had pink giraffes lining the store windows. Ella saw it and was in heaven! Of course we had to stop and buy her one, and Brody got a boy giraffe too. Ella's giraffe already has been given much love and the poor thing has a broken neck to prove it...we think the stuffing must have separated where Ella's hands squeeze it.

After a quick lunch it was offf to the Alamo. We walked the grounds and tried to learn about it, but with two squirrely kids we didn't grasp what the big deal was, afterall we LOST at the Alamo. We've since learned the significance...

This was just something I couldn't pass up...Texas is probably one of the only places you see such things so openly displayed and talked about - I think its hilarious (and true of course)

We walked along the Riverwalk that afternoon. It is a level beneath street level with bunches of Restaurants and hotels. To us it seemed very "pirate of the caribean-ish" That southern feel with the lights and the atmosphere.

Brody coloring and waiting for dinner at "Ritas on the River"
We ate an early dinner along the Riverwalk. We were hoping to eat outside but it was too cold.

Mommy and kids on a bridge above the Riverwalk - you can kind of see all the lights hanging in the trees...gorgeous!
